OWNER // Senior Wedding Officiant and Life Cycle Celebrant

I was a wedding planner for TEN YEARS (hard to believe I'm old enough to have done anything professionally for ten years... but I digress). That's ten years of ceremonies and celebrations and wonderful couples that I have been honoured to work with. As a planner, I was responsible for pulling together the florals, the music, the food and drink... but I found that I was missing the connection to my clients during the ceremony, which is, after all, the most important part of the day!
This is what led me to my training to become a Certified Life Cycle Celebrant and Wedding Officiant. I am overjoyed to now have the opportunity to connect with couples in a completely different way, and to help my couples bring the focus back to the real meaning behind their big celebrations: the love and the promises they are making to each other.

My perfect day: Relaxing at a cottage on a lake with my family and our pup. The kids go to sleep easily, and then a private chef cooks my wife and I an amazing meal, paired with a delicious bottle of red wine!

Wedding Officiant and Life Cycle Celebrant

I love so many different things about working on wedding ceremonies - I mean, if you need a dose of positivity, hang out with two people looking forward to their wedding day! It's the best.
Creating a wedding ceremony is the perfect creative outlet for me. I love being able to blend creative writing, public speaking, and culture and ceremony with each couple's unique story. Plus, every wedding and every couple is different so it's impossible to get bored!
I've always had a knack for speaking in front of groups, so I never get nervous - this allows me to create a calm environment where my couples can fully relax and enjoy the moment. I feel truly lucky to be able to call this my job.

Fun fact: I was actually one of Karen's very first clients! She officiated my backyard wedding ceremony, and we immediately hit it off - we've been friends ever since!
As a former realtor, with ten successful years in the real estate industry, I've always had a passion for helping and connecting with people. My background in real estate has taught me the art of guiding people through important decisions and significant life milestones with comfort and ease. At the end of the day, it's simple; I love people and I LOVE love. I believe it is a powerful force that connects us all and I absolutely love witnessing the energy, warmth and joy it brings to people's lives. I am honoured to be a part of the Grounded Ceremonies team and to be a part of this incredible journey with couples.

My perfect day: A sunrise walk with my dogs, a hot coffee, followed by an afternoon reading in the hammock. End the day with a dinner in the backyard of our country home, surrounded by nature - my favourite place to be.
